PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION
FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM
City of Good’s produce program was created with the goal of supporting local growers, reducing food waste, and building bridges to greater food and nutrition security in the Treasure Valley. City of Good purchases produce from growers and works closely with community partner organizations to ensure that the food makes it into the hands of neighbors that need it.
The program was established in the Spring of 2022 in partnership with Global Gardens and the Idaho Food Bank. In 2023, we partnered with the Idaho Botanical Garden to distribute food donations from its Kitchen Garden. In 2024, we began distributing surplus produce directly from the Boise Farmers Market Saturday market as well as from the Boise Mobile Market. In 2025, the program expanded even further with the creation of the West Bench Farmers Market!
City of Good makes year-round produce distribution possible by preserving a portion of the abundance during the height of the growing season in its commercial kitchen and delivering it during the winter months.
