MOBILE MARKET ASSOCIATE
Job Overview / Summary:
The Mobile Market, a partnership between the Boise Farmers Market and City of Good, provides access to locally grown produce with regularly scheduled weekday routes throughout Boise. Our organizations are working together to ensure equitable access to local food for ALL Boise residents while expanding markets for local farmers and food producers.
This program operates Monday-Thursday with 3-5 regular stops per day, as well as evening and weekend events based on community needs. Mobile Market Associates are seasonal City of Good employees with support from Boise Farmers Market’s Mobile Market Coordinator and City of Good’s Program Manager, along with a team of dedicated volunteers.

Key Accountabilities
Welcome and assist all visitors with kindness and patience
Work to create a dignified shopping experience for all by ensuring visitors understand the Mobile Market’s current pricing model and incentive programs
Understand available produce and goods as instructed by the Program Manager; if unknown, assist the customer in finding information about the product
Answer questions about available products and relay requests for other products
Load, unload, and maintain a clean and tidy Mobile Market van
Help inventory and track produce and products in a detailed and organized manner
Ensure best practices for safety and efficiency are followed at all times
Ensure consistent best practices for cash handling and sales transactions
Provides excellent customer service to a diverse group of customers, vendors, and staff while fostering a positive work environment
Communicates effectively and consistently with visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors
Acts and presents oneself in a professional manner, representing the Mobile Market, Boise Farmers Market, City of Good, and local farms favorably in all interactions
Ensures all stops are visually representative of overall mission and brand
Provides excellent visibility, outreach, and messaging at all stops
Job Requirements:
Displays genuine enthusiasm for local food systems and preserving and fulfilling the mission and values of the Mobile Market
Possesses a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
Ability to comfortably move up to 50 pounds as needed to organize produce and set up at stops
Current, valid driver’s license, and good driving record
Previous customer service work, specifically in selling goods or services to a diverse customer base
Adaptive and flexible to perform additional duties as needed to fulfill the Mobile Market’s mission
Demonstrated ability to complete detailed tasks, in specific order, while delivering great customer service
The ideal candidate will also have:
Experience working or studying in food or food systems-related fields (horticulture, FFA, agricultural sciences, etc.)
Some experience driving or delivering goods or services
Money handling and experience with deposits and best practices
